Lýdia Machová is a polyglot and language mentor whose mission in life is to help people learn languages in fun and effective ways. She has learned 9 languages so far (in 2020), usually adding a new language every two years, and she keeps 7 of them at a fluent level. She believes that everyone can learn a language if they find the right combination of methods and so she created her own profession – that of a language mentor – to help people find their best methods and truly enjoy the language learning journey. Lýdia is a former main organiser of Polyglot Gathering 2017 and 2018, and she has spoken at several other language conferences. Her 10-minute long TED talk has been viewed by more than 7.5 million people.
