👶 Everyone knows that children are better language learners, right? Well, the truth is not so simple...

While children do have SOME advantages when it comes to language learning (e.g. pronunciation), we adults run circles around the little ones in other ways!

Yet there are children and prodigious children. Watch this video to see a 5 year old speaking eight languages. What 's more: some are highly different languages; think of Arabic, Chinese and Russian. The 'Telemundo" program runs in Spanish, which is why Spanish is the first language you hear the young girl speak..

She admits not being fluent in Dutch nor French, but her ambitions are to first improving the languages she already speaks. Counting Austrian German and High German as different languages is an easy way to tick up the counter. I have no idea on how different Mandarin Chinese is from Taiwanese.
